Our Approach
Jiu-Jitsu is more than learning techniques. It is a long-term process of discipline, consistency and personal development.

Brown Belt
André Lima started Jiu-Jitsu in 2015 and developed a strong connection with the sport through training, competition and coaching.
Since 2019, he has been teaching Jiu-Jitsu, helping students understand the art through a clear, practical and progressive approach.
With a background in Sports Science and a Master’s degree in High Performance Training, André brings a unique perspective to the mats. His coaching combines technical detail, training structure and an understanding of physical preparation for combat sports.
His experience in competition also plays an important role in the academy’s training environment. André supports students who want to test themselves in tournaments, helping them prepare with better structure, sharper decision-making and a stronger competitive mindset.
At Gracie Barra Sandweiler, his focus is to help students develop strong fundamentals, improve their confidence on the mats and progress with purpose, whether they train for lifestyle, self-improvement or competition.

Black Belt
André Gonçalo began his Jiu-Jitsu journey in 2009, originally looking to improve his fitness and become more confident.
What started as training quickly became a way of life. Through years of discipline, consistency and dedication, André progressed through the ranks and received his black belt in 2020.
As a coach, he brings calm leadership, technical knowledge and a strong understanding of the Gracie Barra methodology. His teaching helps students build solid fundamentals, improve their decision-making and develop a deeper connection with Jiu-Jitsu.
At Gracie Barra Sandweiler, André supports students through each stage of their training journey, from the first steps to more advanced technical development.

Black Belt
Eugénio Ribeiro has been connected to martial arts and Jiu-Jitsu for more than two decades.
After first discovering Jiu-Jitsu around 25 years ago, life took him in different directions. In 2015, he returned to training with renewed focus and commitment, fully embracing the discipline and lifestyle of the art.
His journey reflects one of the most valuable lessons in Jiu-Jitsu: progress is built through consistency. Through years of training, Eugénio developed a deep appreciation for the technical, mental and personal side of the art.
As part of the Gracie Barra Sandweiler team, his background represents the long-term discipline, resilience and dedication that Jiu-Jitsu can build over time.
